May 22, 20250

Both teams delivered strong performances on the mound Thursday, but the Broncos edged Hanover Central 2–1 in a tightly contested matchup to conclude their 2025 Do It Stevie’s Way Tournament run.

Montini opened the scoring in the bottom of the third inning after a Nick Sheeran walk and a Hanover Central error allowed two runs to cross the plate, providing all the offense the Broncos would need.

Johnny Louise earned the win for Montini with an efficient outing, allowing one run on four hits over six innings while striking out three and walking two. Flores took the loss for Hanover Central after surrendering one run on one hit over two and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one. Max Bell came on in relief to secure the save.

At the plate, Julio Ayala and Kameron Cox each recorded a hit for the Broncos. Defensively, Montini was sharp throughout the game, turning a double play and committing no errors. Sheeran anchored the defense, recording a team-high 10 chances.

For Hanover Central, Twiddy led the offense with two hits in three at-bats. The Wildcats also turned a double play defensively.

Montini returns to action on Monday when they welcome St. Patrick to town.
