The Broncos pulled off a thrilling comeback on Wednesday, defeating the Lockport Porters 5–4 in the penultimate game of the 2025 Do It Stevie’s Way Tournament. Trailing by four runs entering the seventh inning, Montini rallied with a dramatic late surge to secure the victory.
Montini entered the top of the seventh down 4–0 before igniting the comeback. A key single by Kameron Cox, followed by a sacrifice fly from Nick Sheeran, helped bring the Broncos within striking distance before a Lockport error allowed the tying run to score and even the game.
Robert Sansone earned the win on the mound for Montini, delivering four dominant innings of relief while allowing just one hit and no runs. He struck out seven and did not issue a walk. Blake Heyer started the game for the Broncos and worked five innings, surrendering four runs (two earned) on two hits while striking out two. For Lockport, Satunas started and allowed one hit over one and one-third innings, while Bruining took the loss despite pitching two scoreless innings in relief.
Offensively, the aforementioned Cox led the way for Montini with two RBIs, finishing 1-for-3 from the leadoff spot. Johnny Louise, Max Bell, and Nick Mandraeach recorded a hit, while Julio Ayala showcased strong plate discipline with three walks. In fact, the Broncos as a whole demonstrated patience at the plate, drawing 13 walks on the day.
Lockport was paced by Flood, who went 1-for-4 and drove in two runs. Kundrat, Flood, and Batshon each recorded a hit, with Batshon also stealing two bases. The Porters turned two double plays defensively in the contest.
Montini will look to carry the momentum forward as the Broncos travel to face Hanover Central on Thursday.
